Technology Coaching Program for Seniors Expands

As of February 2026, we’ve expanded our technology coaching program to help seniors keep pace with rapidly evolving changes.

Through hands-on personalized device support and patient guidance, we help adults 55 and over gain confidence in using smartphones, social media, online tools and more — bridging the digital divide one device at a time. Sessions range from free one-on-one consultations to $50 per hour for more specialized services.

“We’ve revamped our senior’s technology coaching program as a direct response to community needs” says Jennifer Ellis, Executive Director, Gateway Centre for Learning.

“Financial, healthcare, business and community organizations are online and use specific apps for scheduling appointments and accessing information and services. Organizations are getting away from over-the-phone communications for efficiency and privacy purposes. Seniors are succumbing to online scams, or are afraid of falling for one.”

Programs include free one-on-one coaching for beginners or those who need extra patience and personalized support.

In-home or on-location personalized coaching sessions include troubleshooting, software updates, how to choose a new device and safe online practices ($50 / hour).

And, our newest service allows seniors to drop off their device(s) for account setups, security updates, transferring data, downloading and organizing additional apps. They then return for custom coaching on how to use and manage the new changes ($50 / hour).
